Death and Taxes is a Tinder-like narrative-focused puzzle and management game, where the player assumes the role of the Grim Reaper. It is expected to release on February 20, 2020 on PC, Mac and Linux and is developed by Placeholder Gameworks. The game takes place in a fictional “alternate Earth” world, with the player being confined to Fately Towers, an office block led by Fate, the keeper of world order. The game’s events take place during a period of 28 days and every day the player gets faxed a number of profiles of humans in life-threatening situations. These profiles must then be inspected and marked by the player, to either survive their plight or perish. Each day has a different set of rules, set by Fate, which players are urged to follow.
